Kevin Love to Return to Cavs Lineup Tonight

on

Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star forward Kevin Love has been labeled “active” for the Cavs’ home game against the Utah Jazz tonight.

Head Coach Tyronn Lue announced, “He’s (Love) playing. He’s going to start.”

After missing the past 13 games (7-6) for the Cavaliers due to arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, Love is set to return against Gordon Hayward and the Utah Jazz.

Love had two subpar seasons in Cleveland (16.2 PPG 9.8 RPG) in 2015 and 2016, before the Cavaliers won the NBA Finals last June. That finals run has helped shape Love into an All-Star player once again, improving his production and his role on the Cavaliers. Since Love’s injury, Cleveland has been outrebounded in 10 of 13 games he’s been sidelined for. Love is having, without question his best season in Cleveland so far, averaging 20 points per game, along with 11.1 rebounds while the Cavs have been 33-13 with him in the lineup.

The defending Champions haven’t played their best basketball since Love has been forced to sit out, with 16 games remaining in the season, the Cavaliers finally have all of their players healthy just before the postseason. Now it’s all about getting the Cavaliers playoff ready and Kevin Love back in rhythm to help Cleveland get back on track to become back-to-back champions this year.
