After the 2026 NFL Draft, some teams drastically improved while others may have missed the mark. Although we won’t know how these draft classes fare until three to five years down the line, some teams collected the most value at their picks.

For teams like the Jets, Giants, and Browns, the 2026 NFL Draft could spur them towards a better trajectory. For a team like the Dolphins, it’s an opportunity to build their identity from the ground up.

The teams listed below put themselves in a position to become the biggest winners of the draft and who are talked about for years to come.

Chicago Bears

Key Picks: S Dillon Thieneman, CB Malik Muhammad, C Logan Jones, WR Zavion Thomas

For the Chicago Bears, the 2026 NFL Draft was a great way to replace the huge losses in the secondary. Jaquan Brisker (Steelers), Kevin Byard (Patriots), and Nahshon Wright (Jets) were replaced with two talented players: Oregon Ducks safety Dillon Thieneman and Texas Longhorns defensive back Malik Muhammad.

Thieneman finished his collegiate career forcing two fumbles and collecting eight interceptions. His best season came in 2023 with the Purdue Boilermakers, when he grabbed six interceptions.

Muhammad is a welcome addition after the loss of Wright, due to his ability to create turnovers and play physically as a corner. Muhammad finished his collegiate career with three interceptions and came at a great value pick in the fourth round.

The selection of LSU wide receiver Zavion Thomas allowed the Bears to secure a deep threat, something Head Coach Ben Johnson can utilize within his offense. Johnson was successful with the Detroit Lions in utilizing receiver Jameson Williams.

At the NFL Combine, Thomas displayed his 4.28 speed, showing he could stretch the field while applying pressure to opposing defensive backs. Thomas finished his career with 106 receptions for 1,213 yards and seven touchdowns.

9. Atlanta Falcons

Key Picks: CB Avieon Terrell, WR Zachariah Branch, LB Kendal Daniels, LB Harold Perkins Jr

For the Atlanta Falcons, adding cornerback Avieon Terrell bolstered a secondary that is continuing to grow. After striking gold with safety Xavier Watts, Terrell could be next in line to succeed. Terrell finished his Clemson career with four sacks, eight forced fumbles, and three interceptions. He offers the ability to create turnovers and will have the opportunity to play with his All-Pro brother, AJ Terrell

Adding linebackers Harold Perkins Jr. and Kendal Daniels adds athleticism to the room. Landry projects to be a guy who can be used as a pass rusher while playing pass coverage. He finished his career at LSU with 217 tackles, 17 sacks, 11 pass deflections, seven forced fumbles, and five interceptions. Getting Perkins in the sixth round could turn into a massive draft steal if his college play translates to the pros.

8. Houston Texans

Key Picks: G Keylan Rutledge, DL Kayden McDonald, S Kamari Ramsey, LB Wade Woodaz

For the Houston Texans, addressing the offensive line was an important need to protect quarterback C.J. Stroud long-term. Adding Georgia Tech guard Keylan Rutledge was a high-quality pick.

In 2025, Rutledge played 801 snaps and was only flagged five times and allowed zero sacks. Texans GM Nick Caserio was a huge fan of Rutledge’s toughness and traded up to pick 26 to secure his guard of the future.

While the offense improved, the defense continued to add to a unit that was a force last season. They added USC safety Kamari Ramsey and Ohio State defensive lineman Kayden McDonald.

The Texans have had success with USC safeties like Calen Bullock and look to continue that trend. Ramsey finished his four years forcing two forced fumbles and two interceptions, with room to add to the number in the pros.

McDonald joined a line highlighted by Will Anderson and finished his 2025 season collecting three sacks, two forced fumbles, and one pass defended. Adding players of this quality will contribute to the turnover culture built by DeMeco Ryans

7. Tennessee Titans

Key Picks: WR Carnell Tate, Edge Keldric Faulk, LB Anthony Hill, RB Nicholas Singleton, C Pat Coogan

For the Tennessee Titans, this draft potentially allows second-year quarterback Cam Ward to succeed. Selecting Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate, for example, gives Ward a No. 1 option he could grow with.

Tate finished his 2025-26 campaign with 51 receptions for 875 yards and nine touchdowns. Adding Tate to a room filled with Calvin Ridley and Wan’Dale Robinson allows Ward to have options as he moves the chains.

The addition of Nic Singleton gives the Titans a legit threat in the backfield. Singleton was featured in Penn State’s dynamic backfield with Kaytron Allen. Despite last season being a down year with 549 yards, he still found the end zone 13 times. He’s also produced two 1,000-yard seasons during his freshman and junior years.

While the offense took a step in the right direction, the defense added Texas linebacker Anthony Hill and Auburn edge rusher Keldric Faulk. Hill can make an impact as a pass rusher and playmaker, as he finished his college career with 17 sacks, eight forced fumbles, and three interceptions.

Faulk’s pass rushing should help apply more pressure to opposing quarterbacks. He could be a double-digit sack guy, finishing with 11 sacks during the 2024-25 season at Auburn. Faulk now teams up with defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons and can help the Titans’ defensive front generate more pressure.

6. Miami Dolphins

Key Picks: OT Kadyn Proctor, CB Chris Johnson, LB Jacob Rodriguez, LB Kyle Louis, S Michael Tauffe, WR Kevin Coleman Jr., Edge Trey Moore, WR Caleb Douglas

After Miami dismantled its roster this offseason, the 2026 NFL Draft was crucial for setting up a new era of Dolphins football. Not only did the Dolphins invest in both sides of the ball, but they picked quality players in multiple rounds.

On offense, they added Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor. They also took receivers Caleb Douglas and Kevin Coleman Jr. to build around the newly acquired quarterback, Malik Willis. Proctor is a future anchor and can be a tone setter. Between the duo of Douglas and Coleman, the Dolphins bring in a combined 4,567 yards and 28 touchdowns.

On defense, adding the duo of Pitt linebacker Kyle Louis and Texas Tech’s Jacob Rodriguez adds a level of athleticism and high-level talent. The duo has the potential to be a staple in head coach Jeff Hafley and Sean Duggan’s defense.

Between the two linebackers, they’ve amassed 15 forced fumbles and 12 interceptions. Louis was selected with the 138th pick and could be a franchise-level steal for the Dolphins.

5. New Orleans Saints

Key Picks: WR Jordyn Tyson, DT Christen Miller, TE Oscar Delp, WR Bryce Lance, S Lorenzo Styles Jr., CB TJ Hall

After finishing 6-11 in the 2025 season and last in the NFC South, the New Orleans Saints looked to add talent on both ends of the field. After trading Rasheed Shaheed to the Seattle Seahawks, adding offensive talents outside Chris Olave was a necessity.

With year two of Tyler Shough, the addition of receivers Jordan Tyson and Bryce Lance, along with Georgia tight end Oscar Delp, points to New Orleans being committed to giving him the best situation.

Tyson stands 6-foot-2 and can be a great jump ball guy to pair next to Olave. At Arizona State, he finished with 2,282 yards and 22 career touchdowns, showing he’s a legitimate threat. During his 2024 campaign, he finished with 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns before missing the college football playoff with a broken collarbone.

Tyson’s brother, Jaylon Tyson, plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers, showing just how much athleticism runs in the family. The Tyson brothers became the first duo of brothers to be selected in the first round of two different sports.

On the other hand, Lance finished his collegiate career with back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons and found the endzone eight or more times. In 2024, he finished with 1,053 yards and 17 touchdowns. In 2025, he finished with 1,079 yards and eight touchdowns.

4. Las Vegas Raiders

Key Picks: QB Fernando Mendoza, CB Treydan Stukes, Trey Zuhn III, RB Mike Washington Jr., CB Jermod McCoy, WR Malik Benson, CB Hezekiah Masses

Outside the obvious addition of Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza, the Raiders came up huge in addressing their secondary and adding a few pieces on offense. Running back Ashton Jeanty gets a running mate in Mike Washington Jr., while the starting quarterback gets a field stretcher in Malik Benson.

In the secondary, the Raiders added Cal cornerback Hezekiah Masses, Tennessee’s Jermod McCoy, and Arizona corner Treydan Stukes. McCoy dropped due to medical concerns about a bone plug in his knee, despite him feeling good.

McCoy missed the 2025 season with an ACL injury he suffered in the season prior. He was a projected first-rounder, and if the Raiders maximize his talent, he’ll be a fifth-round steal. In 2024, he finished with seven pass deflections and four interceptions.

Masses and Stukes will also be two guys to watch as they were also productive in college. Between the two corners, they’ve combined for 50 pass deflections and 14 interceptions. Having two guys who can turn over the ball can help the defense flip the field for the offense.

3. New York Giants

Key Picks: LB Arvell Reese, OT Francis Mauigoa, CB Colton Hood, WR Malachi Fields, OT JC Davis, LB Jack Kelly

After hiring John Harbaugh, the New York Giants entered the 2026 NFL Draft looking for players to fit a new mold of football. Having two top 10 picks is never easy, but with the addition of Ohio State’s Arvell Reese and Miami’s Fancis Mauigoa, it feels like they can’t miss. Reese finished his Ohio State career with 112 tackles, two pass deflections, and seven sacks.

Harbaugh also addressed the offensive line to protect second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart. Dart was under a lot of duress last season, and protecting him this season allows him to avoid big hits in the long run.

After being selected by the Giants, Mauigoa said he was “ready to die” for Dart. Mauigoa and Illinois tackle J.C. Davis could be familiar faces for Dart for years to come as the Giants look to improve their current stature.

Grabbing Tennessee cornerback Colton Hood in the second round was a strong addition after he was also a projected first-round pick. Hood stepped up in the absence of McCoy in 2025 and finished with 50 tackles, eight pass deflections, one forced fumble, and one interception.

2. Cleveland Browns

Key Picks: OT Spencer Fano, WR KC Concepcion, WR Denzel Boston, S Emmanuel McNeil-Warren, OT Austin Barber, OC Parker Brailsford, QB Taylen Green

The Cleveland Browns continued to be a team on the rise after perfectly executing their first four picks. Even though there can be questions about the starting quarterback, surrounding the starter with talent makes them a potential threat. Last draft, the Browns snagged Bowling Green tight end Harold Fannin Jr. and added Washington receiver Denzel Boston and Texas A&M KC Concepcion this year.

The youth of Concepcion, Boston, and Fannin, alongside receiver Jerry Jeudy, could cause problems for opposing secondaries. Washington and Concepcion found the endzone 45 times between the two and revitalized the third-worst offense from last season, according to ESPN

Addressing the offensive line was worth the investment as well. If Shedeur Sanders is the No. 1 option, protecting the investment at quarterback is key to having success.

They selected Utah tackle Spencer Fano, Alabama center Parker Brailsford, and Florida tackle Austin Barber. The Browns can continue to have a dominant run game with Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson while improving the passing game.

1. New York Jets

Key Picks: Edge David Bailey, TE Kenyon Sadiq, WR Omar Cooper Jr., CB D’Angelo Ponds, DT Darrell Jackson Jr., QB Cade Klubnik, OL Anez Cooper

For head coach Aaron Glenn and the New York Jets, the draft was a major success. After having two first-round picks, the Jets weren’t afraid to trade back in with the 49ers and select another instant impact player. They only surrendered picks 33 and 179 to move up to pick 30 in the first round.

Offensively, adding the most athletic tight end in the draft, Oregon’s Kenyon Sadiq, and Indiana wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. helps the Jets add more depth at the skill positions. For Garrett Wilson, having a running mate like Cooper Jr. could help take attention off him and return to form.

Cooper finished the 2025 season with 937 yards and 13 touchdowns. Sadiq also adds versatility, playing as a tight end or receiver in certain sets. Sadiq finished his 2025 season with 560 yards and eight touchdowns. Between the two, that’s 21 touchdowns the Jets could potentially add to their offense.

On defense, adding guys like Texas Tech edge David Bailey and Indiana cornerback D’Angelo Ponds positions the Jets with two future cornerstones on the defensive end.

For Ponds, he joins a defense that could not get an interception, something his ball-hawking ability could change. Ponds drew similar comparisons to Glenn after he was selected. In college, Ponds finished his career with seven interceptions.

The Reality With Winners

Even though these 10 teams are winners after the draft, we won’t fully know how they impact the team until 3-5 years down the line. Some of these players may strike gold early on, while some may disappoint. But, for some teams, their 2026 draft class may be a springboard to better success and a higher reputation as a team.
