Larry Bird announced that Frank Vogel will no longer be the Head Coach for the Indiana Pacers any longer.
During a press conference Thursday morning, Bird said that they would not renew Vogel’s contract. The question if Vogel would stay or go was on the minds of many Pacers fans before the press conference. Bird said that he has a list of possible coaches and that he hopes the new direction will get them back to the All-Star break.
He also said that he wants the Pacers to score more. Vogel has been with the Pacers for six seasons as the head coach. His contact was up this year. Bird said “Vogel did a good job, but after a certain number of years, it’s time to make a move.”
Paul George was asked about what the team needs to get better moving forward.
“I’m not sure. It all depends on how determined and how focused Myles is to get better, but I don’t know. Hopefully, myself, Monta can do a great job in recruiting in free agency, maybe George as well in getting a big name to come here and help us out,”
