The Baltimore Ravens’ victorious preseason opener was filled with energy, big moments, and explosive plays, fueling fans with optimism. While there was plenty of success, the victory did not come without its share of struggles.

Big Moments from Standout Players

Several Ravens made their mark in the preseason opener. Jay Higgins caught an interception and disrupted the passing game with strong coverage. Keaton Mitchell impressed with his explosive runs, averaging 7.6 yards per carry, and added a touchdown.

Rasheen Ali provided steady production on the ground, also scoring a touchdown. LaJohntay Wester brought a bunch of excitement with a punt return touchdown and had two receptions for 41 yards.

Defensively, T.J. Tampa and Beau Brade both stood out in coverage, leading the Ravens in tackles. Brade had a team-high seven tackles — Tampa was close behind with six. Adisa Isaac made his presence felt through consistent backfield pressure, tallying a sack.

Aeneas Peebles clogged the running lanes and David Ojabo delivered a highlight sack with a powerful hit. Mike Green‘s athleticism off the edge created constant problems for the opposing quarterback, showing why he can be a big contributor this season.

Starter and Backups Face Preseason Challenges

In the first Ravens preseason game, backup quarterback play showed clear areas of improvement. Cooper Rush completed two of four passes, but threw an interception in the first quarter before leaving the game early. Following that, Devin Leary faced issues with accuracy, finishing 3/12 for 43 yards and one interception.

Meanwhile, on the line, starter Daniel Faalele had a difficult outing. He faced challenges with pass blocking at guard. His position could become competitive as the preseason continues.

Positive Momentum

This is only the preseason, but early signs matter. The Ravens will look for better backup quarterback play and hope their rookies become consistent. There are many positives from the team’s depth to watch as the regular season approaches.

Overall, the Ravens first preseason game showed plenty of reasons to be hopeful.
