Bulls C Robin Lopez and Raptors PF Serge Ibaka have both been handed one-game suspensions by the league due to their roles in Tuesday night’s scuffle during the 3rd quarter, Marc Stein of ESPN reports.
The scuffle began when Robin Lopez didn’t take kindly to a slight shove by Serge Ibaka, which then led to Lopez slapping the ball out of Ibaka, and things escalated from there. Both Lopez and Ibaka got their swings in, but neither connected (see video above). The Bulls had a sizable lead at this point, but that was later squandered and Chicago would fall to Toronto in overtime.
Despite this only being a one-game suspension, both teams are in need of crucial wins with just a handful of games remaining in the regular season. The Bulls (33-38) sit two games out of the playoffs in the Eastern conference, and the Raptors (42-29) are neck and neck with the Washington Wizards (42-28) for the fourth seed.
